Better Together

Through the National Growth Fund programme, PhotonDelta is investing in the shared technologies and capabilities needed to industrialise integrated photonics. These Better Together missions focus on common challenges across the value chain, including testing, prototyping, packaging, integration and novel materials. By developing these capabilities collectively, the programme aims to reduce development barriers, strengthen the Dutch photonics supply chain and help more technologies move efficiently from research and development towards scalable products and applications.

Better Together

Communication and Compute

Focused on the shared technologies needed to move and process growing volumes of data more efficiently. This category strengthens the photonic chip building blocks behind high-performance computing, data-centre connectivity and future network infrastructure, helping bring faster, lower-power systems closer to scalable deployment.

Front-End Optimisation

Imaging

Wireless

Focuses on applying photonic technologies to capture more precise and detailed information from objects, materials and biological structures. These projects support applications across healthcare, industrial inspection, semiconductor manufacturing and machine vision.

PIC Testing

Rapid Prototyping

Sensing

Focuses on applying photonic technologies to better understand materials, structures and environments in real time. These projects support applications ranging from industrial quality control and infrastructure monitoring to mobility, agriculture and healthcare, enabling more precise and compact sensing solutions.
