IPSR-I Autumn Meeting 2024

17.10 - 17.10.2024

Over 400 academic and industrial experts from across the globe worked together to create the Integrated Photonics Systems Roadmap – International (IPSR-I) to define the future of Photonic Integrated Circuits. On 17 October 2024 these experts will come together for the IPSR-I Autumn Meeting in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The IPSR-I Autumn Meeting 2024

This year, PIC Summit Europe will co-host the IPSR-I Autumn Meeting to create a shared industry vision for future product standards and fabrication methodologies to enable the full potential of integrated photonics.

Programme:

15 October: Starts with great keynotes, followed by breakout sessions on technology and business.
16 October: Fully dedicated to PIC applications in wireless communication, biosensing, 3D-imaging, and optical computing as well as a host of side events on topics such as startup funding, talent attraction and more.

IPSR-I Autumn Meeting:
17 October: The core of the IPSR-I Autumn Meeting. There will be three breakout sessions on: “The Future of TFLN and BTO in PICs,” “Photonic-Electronic Heterogeneous Integration,” and “Design of Packaged PICs for Manufacturing.” Feel free to suggest other big and urgent topics currently not yet covered by the programme to Peter van Arkel at peter.vanarkel@photondelta.com.

The Integrated Photonics Systems Roadmap

The goal of the IPSR-I is to establish and sustain a trust-based global network of industrial, and research and development partners working together to define the future of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). It’s a joint initiative between PhotonDelta in Europe and the Microphotonics Center at MIT in the United States. So far, more than 400 experts have contributed to the roadmap.

Together, the IPSR-I network will enable the fastest possible scaling of integrated photonics for applications by delivering an up-to-date technology roadmap driven by market needs. The roadmap meetings are a unique opportunity to get everyone around the same table to discuss the way forward, bridging the gaps between industry and academia, markets and technologies, as well as electronics and photonics.

How to join?

Active IPSR-I members

Active members of the IPSR-I community will receive an email inviting them to the autumn meeting at PIC Summit Europe in Eindhoven.

Are you an expert in photonics or electronics and interested in getting involved?

A call is always open for contributions by experts in the various technological and applicational fields to update the IPSR-I. The Integrated Photonic Systems Roadmap International (IPSR-I) invites all organizations, including universities, research institutes, SMEs, customers, and the vertical supply chain, to participate.

The IPSR-I is a living document that is continuously updated. The chapters need enrichment with technological, module, and application developments in their respective fields. Throughout the years, the working groups work together on updating their respective roadmap chapters, and twice a year, a physical meeting is organised to get together.

Participation and attendance at all physical IPSR-I meetings are by invitation, but all stakeholders who are willing to devote time and effort to achieve the goals of IPSR-I are encouraged to participate.

To join the IPSR-I community, please contact Peter van Arkel, the IPSR-I Roadmapping Director, via p.vanarkl@photondelta.com and select a working group that interests you.

When the registration for the autumn meeting opens (or has already been opened), you will receive an invitation by e-mail.
