TechBridge: Taiwan Call 2026
02.03 - 02.06.2026The Techbridge: Taiwan 2026 call is an international funding opportunity designed to accelerate cross-border R&D collaboration between Dutch and Taiwanese partners in the field of photonic integrated circuits, chips that integrate multiple optical components on a single platform to manipulate and process light for high-speed communications, sensing, computing and other advanced applications.
The call supports innovative R&D projects that strengthen foundational capabilities in integrated photonics and fast-track technologies toward high-volume production and real-world commercial impact.
- Application period: 2 March – 2 June 2026
- Funding programme: Joint initiative by RVO & Taiwan Industrial Development Administration (IDA)
- Total programme budget: €1.9M up to €700,000 per consortium.
- Project Duration: Maximum of 36 months
Who Can Participate?
The call is open to Dutch companies, knowledge institutions and research organisations, in consortium with Taiwanese partners with relevant photonics expertise. Each consortium must include at least one Dutch and one Taiwanese company. Projects must be directed toward civil applications with clear innovative value and technological risk, and no single organisation or country may cover more than 70% of the total eligible project costs.
Terms and conditions
Projects should aim to develop an innovative product, process or service with clear commercialisation potential, and must involve technological risks that require collaborative R&D. Costs must be reasonably balanced between Dutch and Taiwanese partners.
Information session
RVO will host an online information session covering the call, eligibility criteria and application process. Topics include the scope and objectives of the Techbridge: Taiwan 2026 call, eligibility and consortium requirements, funding conditions and project structure, the application process and timeline, and opportunities for collaboration with Taiwanese partners.
