Innovation Mission Medical Technology to India

19.04 - 25.04.2026

19–25 April 2026 | New Delhi, Hyderabad & Bengaluru

Innovation, Research & Education | International Collaboration

Are you active in (bio)medical technology, MedTech, medical imaging, diagnostics, digital health, AI in healthcare, or data-driven health innovation? And are you interested in exploring future market opportunities in India for co-creation, research and development partnerships, and scalable pilot projects with leading Indian innovators?

Then join the Innovation Mission Medical Technology to India, taking place from Sunday, 19 April until Saturday, 25 April 2026.

Why India?

India is undergoing a major transformation in medical technology, digital healthcare, AI-enabled diagnostics, and health data infrastructure. The Indian MedTech sector is currently valued at USD 16–20 billion and is expected to grow to USD 24–30 billion by 2030, driven by rapid advances in medical devices, diagnostics, and AI-powered clinical tools.

With more than 10,000 HealthTech and MedTech startups, a strong base of highly skilled technical talent, and supportive national policies for R&D and manufacturing, India offers significant opportunities for international collaboration in areas such as:

  • AI for medical imaging and biosignal processing
  • Data-driven healthcare solutions
  • Wearable technology and medical electronics
  • Remote monitoring and home-care solutions
  • Cloud-based diagnostics and digital therapeutics
  • Medical device design, prototyping, and manufacturing
  • Clinical validation using large and diverse patient populations

A key enabler is the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), India’s national digital health backbone. ABDM is accelerating the standardisation of electronic health records (EHRs), interoperability, and secure data portability for over 1.4 billion people. This unprecedented scale makes India one of the world’s largest living testbeds for AI in healthcare, population-scale health data infrastructure, digital public goods, and the integration of medical devices into digital health systems.

What to Expect from the Mission

This innovation mission brings together experts from the Dutch and Indian ecosystems to explore R&D opportunities, strengthen collaborations, and co-develop MedTech solutions addressing real-world healthcare challenges.

The mission aims to:

  • Deepen insight into the Indian MedTech, AI-in-healthcare, and digital health ecosystems
  • Facilitate cross-border innovation partnerships
  • Support the development of scalable and impactful healthcare technologies
  • Contribute to a strong international infrastructure for health innovation and applied research

A key focus is the use of AI-driven, labour-saving technologies to address healthcare workforce shortages in the Netherlands, for example, in:

  • Elderly care
  • Oncology screening
  • Chronic disease management

In addition, the mission offers opportunities for joint R&D, where Dutch innovators collaborate with Indian research centres on:

  • AI algorithms
  • Clinical datasets
  • Advanced medical technologies and digital health platforms
