‘Expert Communities’ is an initiative by PhotonDelta that aims to bring together professionals from the same field (for instance, HR, marketing, or engineering) within the photonic chip industry. These communities will be entirely self-steering and self-managed, which means that the community members will have complete autonomy to set objectives for the community, run and manage the community, organise professional events, and make collaborative decisions. Every member of the community is encouraged to take the responsibility of organising events for the community. Examples of activities/events include knowledge-sharing sessions exploring best practices in your respective fields, hosting inspirational speakers, arranging company tours, or simply meeting up to discuss challenges in your field and brainstorm solutions together.
Why this initiative?
There are 3 main objectives of expert communities:
- Knowledge exchange: Being part of a community means you can share domain-specific best practices, address common challenges faced by your organisation, or explore emerging trends in your field through expert talks and interactive sessions.
- Networking Made Easy: You can connect with peers (in the same field) from across companies in the photonic chip industry, build relationships that can lead to exciting collaborations, and foster a sense of belonging in this rapidly evolving field. Together you can shape the future of photonics.
- Ecosystem Growth: Your voice matters. Through these communities, you share your company’s insights, challenges, and innovative ideas with PhotonDelta. This input can help PhotonDelta create the right initiatives to grow the photonic chip industry.
What does this initiative entail?
An Expert Community typically comprises 5 to 25 professionals from the same domain within the photonic chip industry. These communities have the flexibility to organise a range of meetings throughout the year. PhotonDelta provides funding for up to three events annually, which can be used for in-person gatherings. Communities are encouraged to host additional events, either virtual or physical, using their own resources if they wish to exceed the sponsored quota.
